Associate - Employment Law Specialist
"I place a great deal of emphasis on my relationship with clients, the more you understand their business needs and operation, the better the legal advice you can provide!"
Luke joined the Travlaw team as a paralegal in July 2011, having gained a distinction in his LPC. Now qualified as a solicitor, Luke is our employment law specialist who heads up the Employment Department here at Travlaw, while also playing an active role in the Commercial Department too.
Luke regularly advises clients on a variety of complex employment and commercial topics, ranging from effective employee management, restrictive covenants, discipline and redundancy procedures, to drafting terms and conditions, a variety of different agreements and also performing intricate contract negotiations. This means that Luke is able to provide sound business-focused advice on a wide range of travel law issues and regulatory matters.
“Working at Travlaw is an absolute pleasure, the dynamic and ethos of the team helps to create a fantastic working environment. Everybody gets on so well and there is a real desire to ensure that we provide our clients with the best possible service. I especially enjoy my role as employment law specialist.”
Favourite holiday? “My favourite holiday bar none was my first trip skiing. It was a University trip to the Risoul resort in France and, while it only lasted a week, was a great deal of fun. I even managed to negotiate (slide) my way down a ‘black’ run. It was an excellent experience and one I hope to repeat again soon.”
Anywhere you are longing to go? “I hope to visit Rome in the near future as the amount of history and culture on display is incredible and with it being so close I really have no excuse to put it off any longer!”
Key bit of legal advice? “The best advice I could give a client is to always consider the most commercial way to resolve a dispute. It can be tempting to charge in all guns blazing, but sometimes a touch of subtlety can bring a wealth of rewards”.
